NCERT Class 9 Textbooks All Subjects

The new NCERT Class 9 textbooks (2026-27) are Ganita Manjari (Mathematics), Exploration (Science), Kaveri (English), Ganga (Hindi), Sharada and Risikulya (Sanskrit), Jamuna (Urdu), Khel Praveen (Physical Education & Well-Being) and Understanding Society: India and Beyond (Social Science). The ICT textbook has not been published yet.

NCERT has revised all textbooks under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and the new National Curriculum Framework for School Education (NCF-SE) 2023. The new books focus on conceptual understanding, competency-based learning, real-life applications, and reduced rote memorisation.

Ganita Manjari is completely restructured with 8 thematic chapters in Part 1 (e.g., Orienting Yourself, The World of Numbers, Exploring Algebraic Identities, Probability, Sequences) and 6 more in Part 2 (e.g., Propositions and their Converses, The World of Algorithms, Quadrilaterals, Surface Area and Volume). It emphasises reasoning, real-life contexts, and competency-based questions – moving away from rote learning.

Social Science is now available: Understanding Society: India and Beyond (Part I), with 9 chapters. NCERT has not published the Class 9 ICT textbook yet; we will add it to this page when it is released.

Ganita Manjari has 14 chapters in two parts. Part 1 has 8: 1) Orienting Yourself: The Use of Coordinates, 2) Introduction to Linear Polynomials, 3) The World of Numbers, 4) Exploring Algebraic Identities, 5) I’m Up and Down, and Round and Round, 6) Measuring Space: Perimeter and Area, 7) The Mathematics of Maybe: Introduction to Probability, 8) Predicting What Comes Next: Exploring Sequences and Progressions. Part 2 has 6: 9) Propositions and their Converses, 10) How Quantities Combine: Understanding Data, 11) The World of Algorithms, 12) Quadrilaterals, 13) Two Variables, One Line, 14) Math of Space: Surface Area and Volume.

Khel Praveen is the new NCERT Physical Education and Well-being textbook for Class 9. It has 23 chapters in 6 units: Evolution of Physical Education and Well-being, Science and Sports, Olympism, Sports for All, Sports, and Yoga for Holistic Health and Personal Excellence. Download Khel Praveen.
