AS and A Level, explained
AS Level
In most international A Level routes, AS is the first half of the course, usually taken in the first year. It can be a qualification on its own or count towards the full A Level.
Full A Level
The second year adds the harder half of the course. Students need both halves for the full A Level, and universities usually ask for full A Level grades.
Why the jump from IGCSE feels big
A Level goes deeper, uses more maths in the sciences and asks longer structured and data questions, so good IGCSE grades don’t always carry over on their own.
Tell us the board
Boards and syllabus codes differ. Tell us the exam board and syllabus on your child’s timetable when you enquire, and we match them to the right batch.

How we teach
How A Level classes work
Hardest topics first
Bring the topic list or recent test papers from school. We start where marks are being lost.
Past-paper questions
Students practise real exam-style questions, including the long structured and data questions.
Working checked in the room
Teachers check each step of a calculation or explanation, not just the final answer.
Small batches
Doubts are cleared in class, in person, while the idea is fresh.

FAQ
A Level tuition in Bahrain: questions from parents
Which A Level subjects do you support?
Physics, Chemistry and Biology, at both AS and full A Level.
Do you teach the whole A Level course?
Our A Level classes are support classes: they help students with difficult topics, past-paper questions and exam technique alongside their school course.
Are A Level classes online or in person?
In person, at our Riffa-Bukuwara centre. Being in the same room lets teachers check working and clear doubts straight away.
Do you also teach IGCSE sciences?
Yes. We teach IGCSE Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Biology, so students can continue with the same centre from IGCSE to A Level.
What is the difference between AS and A Level?
In most international A Level routes, AS is the first half of the course and the full A Level adds a second, harder half. Check with your child’s school which papers they are entered for.
Is there a free trial class?
Yes. New families can book a free trial class. Call or WhatsApp us on +973 3660 8476.
How much are the tuition fees?
Fees depend on your child’s grade and subjects. Message us on WhatsApp and we’ll send the current fees for your child’s grade.
