Which NCERT books are new in 2026–27?
Based on the front pages of the books themselves (each book states its framework and first edition):
- Classes 1 and 2: books written under NCERT’s National Curriculum Framework for the Foundational Stage (NCF-FS), first published in May 2023: Mridang (English), Sarangi (Hindi) and Joyful Mathematics.
- Classes 3 to 8: the new NCF-SE 2023 series, first published from 2024 onwards (Classes 3 to 5 in 2024 and 2025, Classes 6 to 8 between 2024 and 2026): for example Santoor and Poorvi (English), Maths Mela and Ganita Prakash (Maths), Our Wondrous World, Curiosity (Science) and Exploring Society: India and Beyond.
- Class 9: new NCF-SE 2023 books first published in 2026: Kaveri (English), Ganga (Hindi), Ganita Manjari (Maths), Exploration (Science), Understanding Society: India and Beyond, Khel Praveen, Kaushal Vikas and Madhurima.
- Classes 10 to 12: NCERT’s continuing textbooks, reprinted for 2026–27. Most were first published in 2006 or 2007, such as Mathematics and Science (Class 10) and Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics Parts I and II (Class 12); a few, such as Computer Science and Informatics Practices, date from 2019 and 2020.

Which classes have new NCERT textbooks in 2026–27?
Classes 1 to 9. Classes 1 and 2 use books written under NCF-FS (first published in 2023), Classes 3 to 8 use the NCF-SE 2023 series (first published from 2024 onwards), and Class 9 has new books first published in 2026. Classes 10 to 12 continue with NCERT’s existing textbooks, reprinted for 2026–27.
Are the NCERT PDFs on this page official?

Are Hindi-medium NCERT books available?
Yes. The Class 6 to 8 and Class 10 to 12 subject pages list the Hindi-medium edition of each book NCERT publishes in Hindi, such as Jigyasa (Class 7 Science) and Bhautiki (Class 11 and 12 Physics).
Do CBSE schools in the Gulf use the same NCERT books?
CBSE schools in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman and Bahrain follow the same CBSE curriculum as schools in India, and the NCERT PDFs download from anywhere.
